👤 ABOUT THIS EPISODE
Bethany and Hannah Keime started HeartCharged after realizing how lucky they were to have each other through their CHD journey—and how many patients don't have that. What began as an Instagram page is now a nonprofit that's passed school heart screening legislation, donated dozens of AEDs (one saved a life), and launched the viral "Flash the Boobs to Save a Life" campaign addressing why women have worse cardiac arrest survival rates.
We talk about why CHD is still seen as a childhood disease, why young patients get dismissed by doctors, and what it takes to build a community that actually connects.
