Central to the Morizo RR is an exclusive suspension setup tuned to work with the significant downforce generated by a carbon-fiber rear wing developed during Nürburgring competition. Damping forces are calibrated to keep the tires planted over uneven surfaces, echoing the demands of the Nordschleife rather than smooth circuits. Electric power steering has also been retuned to suit this configuration.
A new 4WD control mode replaces the standard GRAVEL setting. Named “MORIZO” mode, it locks initial torque distribution at 50:50 front to rear, reflecting Toyoda’s personal preferences developed through racing. The intent is predictability and balance, especially under sustained load.
Visually, the Morizo RR is immediately distinct. The exclusive “Gravel Khaki” exterior color is intentionally subdued, designed to blend into everyday settings despite the car’s aggressive hardware. A piano black grille, matte bronze wheels, and yellow brake calipers add contrast without overstating intent.
Aerodynamic enhancements go beyond the rear wing. A carbon-fiber hood, front spoiler, and side skirts complete the package, all developed with real-world racing input rather than visual effect alone.
Inside, the focus remains on control. A suede-wrapped steering wheel with a slightly reduced diameter improves grip and response. Paddle shifters and steering-wheel switches have been revised based on experience with the GR Yaris Rally2, and yellow stitching carries Morizo’s signature throughout the cabin. Each car features a numbered “MORIZO RR” serial plate, reinforcing its limited-run status.
The GR Yaris Morizo RR will be limited to 100 units in Japan, with an additional 100 units planned for selected European markets. Japanese buyers will acquire the car via a lottery system using Toyota’s GR app, underscoring its exclusivity. Availability is scheduled for spring 2026.
For Toyota Gazoo Racing, the Morizo RR represents something more personal than a typical special edition. It is a rolling record of what was learned on one of the world’s toughest circuits, filtered through the preferences of the company’s most involved driver. The result is not designed to impress on paper, but to reward commitment behind the wheel.
