My new boots here have thick soles,
I never had such boots, I should crush the planks.

All dances hopsasa, valeri juchairasa,
Below in the Volga, a Hopsapolka.
Hey juchej, valeri juchej, joyful let's go!
We are from Russia!

"Hopsapolka," cries the old man, "that I show you something,
Play me a merry tune on dulcimer and violin. "
Uncle Sepp grasps the girl and they turn cheerfully.
Hopsasa in the polka rhythm , always motley.

Silvery white is already the hair, but still nimble feet.
"Place! There's came a new pair, Uncle Sepp and Liese. "
S' Lies'che and the Uncle Sepp, S' Lies'che does not want the old man,
The old man is not so fool, looks around for another girl.

And so Uncle Sepp is dancing with girl on the Volga.
Everything laughs, crooked and bent, cheery Hopsapolka.
