Location & Overview
Norman Manley International Airport (NMIA) is one of Jamaica’s two major international airports, located in Kingston, the capital city. It serves as a critical gateway for business and leisure travelers, connecting Jamaica to destinations across the Caribbean, North America, Europe, and beyond. The airport is named after Norman Manley, a national hero of Jamaica, former Chief Minister, and a key figure in the country’s movement toward independence.
History & Development
Originally established as Palisadoes Airport in the 1940s, it was later renamed Norman Manley International Airport in 1969 to honor Manley’s contributions to Jamaica.
By 2023, the total passenger count reached approximately 1,748,100

Norman Manley International Airport (NMIA) is approximately:
• 11 miles (18 kilometers) from downtown Kingston
The airport is located on the Palisadoes strip, which extends into Kingston Harbour, making it a short drive from the city center, usually around 25–30 minutes depending on traffic.
• 17 miles (27 kilometers) from Portmore, Jamaica
The drive typically takes around 35–45 minutes, depending on traffic conditions and the chosen route.
• 12 miles (19 kilometers) from New Kingston
The drive usually takes around 25–35 minutes, depending on traffic.


I have authentic Jamaican recipes such as the Jamaican Christmas Cake and Ackee & Saltfish as well as popular dishes worldwide such as pasta dishes such as macaroni and cheese. there are meals for vegetarians / vegans and pescatarians and for meat lovers. There are deserts such as cakes and puddings and some of the most delicious juices and smoothies you will ever have.

My focus will always ultimately be a healthy lifestyle so I will cook with less oil and less salt where possible. Basically, I cater to everyone!
