MAESTRO is a descender designed for technical rescue operations. It facilitates manipulation of heavy loads, for lowering or hauling, and may be used in both the primary system or in a back-up belay. In this video we will show you how to use the Petzl MAESTRO in a twin tensioned system. By sharing the load between two ropes both ropes are pre-stretched, which reduces the potential extension in the case if one rope fails. Also, with one person operating both devices, it's easier to match the tension in both systems.
