Описание: Distribution system of Gunjawani project is unique not only in Maharashtra but also in the India. Main canal is proposed by closed pipe from the Dam itself using gravitational force. The length of the main canal is 83.698 Km. At 17.681 Km, right bank canal is off - taking from left bank canal which is of length 20.378 Km. Available water head from Dam is utilized for water distribution. Due to this diameter of main pipe is reduced and diameter of distributories and minors are also reduced. The water will be distributed by gravity from dam to the farmers up-to farms for 24 hours and 365 days with head of 20 m by micro irrigation without using electricity or pumping for irrigation. As micro irrigation is proposed, instead of conventional cropping pattern it is proposed to include cash crops such as fruits vegetables in the proposed cropping pattern. As Gunjawani project is near Pune city, huge market will be available to farmers which will be beneficial to them. All the distribution system will be controlled by Automization techniques. Water will be distributed to all farmers by volumetric basis.
