2ND HALF HIGHLIGHTS
An interesting initiative by schools rugby to host a Friday Night Lights game at Queens Playing Fields last night.
A big crowd watched Campbell College and Inst 1sts play out an entertaining game on a dreich evening.
After an early CCB try in H2 gave CCB a one point lead Inst turned it on in the following 15 minutes to claim back and then texted the lead. While Inst made a few mistakes in H2 and conceded some penalties it is clear that they will be tough to beat this year in the upcoming Schools Cup!
All told the event raises the profile of school rugby and gives the players involved early experience of playing in front of a large crowd and in a stadium environment. More please!
As I wasn't able to get to The Dub early enough I arrived at HT and therefore only have extensive highlights for the second half.
