The traditional trail is 5 miles but there are multiple options to extend this hike by several miles. The views of the Colorado River are simply amazing along this hike that follows the rim of Dead Horse State Park and the Colorado River Canyon. You can start at the Dead Horse Point and hike around or start at the visitor center as you enter the park. Pay attention to the sun as you decide to start with the west rim or the east rim.
