Описание: Newport Station is located on the South Wales Mainline between Bristol and Cardiff Central, the station is also located at the junction of a collection of routes converging from all across the western side of England as well as being the terminus of a branch line from Ebbw Vale Town.

The station is managed by Transport For Wales with services being operated by: CrossCountry Trains, Great Western Railway and Transport For Wales all calling here:

CrossCountry services operate up to hourly towards Birmingham and onto Nottingham via Derby or towards Cardiff Central with these services being operated with Class 170 Diesel Multiple Units. One through service (Mon-Sat) operates directly to Edinburgh via Leeds with this service being operated with Class 220 and Class 221 Diesel Multiple Units.

Long Distance Great Western Railway services operate frequently towards London Paddington or towards Cardiff Central, Swansea with some services continuing to Carmarthen as well as towards: Exeter, Plymouth and Penzance. These services are operated with Class 800-802 Diesel Electric Multiple Units. Some Cardiff Central and London Paddington services are also operated by Class 387 Electric Multiple Units.

Regional GWR services operate also towards Portsmouth via Westbury, with these services being operated with a mix of Class 158, 165 and Class 166 Diesel Multiple Units.

Transport For Wales operate most services here with a mix of regional and local services.

Regional TFW services operate towards: Cardiff Central, Holyhead and Manchester Piccadilly with these services being operated with a mix of Class 197 DMU's as well as Class 67 hauled Mark 4 Coaching Stock.

Longer distance services also operate towards West Wales including: Carmarthen, Milford Haven, Pembroke Dock and Fishguard Harbour, with these services now being operated with mainly Class 197 DMU's replacing older: Class 150, 153, 158 and Class 175 DMU's through the last few years,

Local TFW services operate towards: Ebbw Vale Town, Cheltenham Spa, and Gloucester with these services being operated with a mix of Class 150, 153 and Class 197 DMU's.
