Huge winter stockpile in the mountains! ❄️ Winter is approaching, and it is time to harvest the last gifts of nature to fill our pantry for the cold days ahead.
In this video, I want to share the traditional Chinese rural life and how we prepare for winter. We dug up fresh organic ginger from the soil, harvested sweet oranges and kumquats from the trees, and made sun-dried sweet potatoes for long-term preservation.
The highlight of the season is making "Nian Gao" (Sticky Rice Cakes) – an ancient traditional process where white steam fills the air with the aroma of rice. This is essential comfort food for the Chinese New Year.
