"Well I outfit people. I take them through how to wear the outfits. We measure them up and let them try things on and see what they feel comfortable in. We take it from there, make up an order and it all gets sent away to be made up. Six to eight weeks later they have a full outfit."

"Now what you see happening behind us here is the weaving process. This is making the tartan for the gentleman's kilts, which you will see in the shop later on. The process has been in the building for about 10 -15 years and it's the only one left in Edinburgh doing this"

"To call a kilt a kilt a proper Scottish kilt it has to be three things, it should be pure wool, hand stitched, completely hand stitched and made in Scotland. So as a guy that comes from a modern angle but with such a traditional background I don't want to see the art of kilt making destroyed or lost, so even something like black wool and tweed kilts are completely hand stitched and made in a traditional way"

"The inspiration comes from probably growing up in the kilt industry business. I had seen all sorts around the world, and plain kilts have always been in existence. Irish wear plain saffron orangey colour, plain green. I had always seen tweed kilts. Where I started is I made a PVC hand stitched kilt when I was 18. I had never worn snakeskin or PVC before but thought it was something different to make a kilt in. I wore it to my sister's wedding and went down very well. I then started doing like camouflage and oriental silk designs sort of going along with the idea of trying to make a kilt from anything a man would wear in trousers. So using fabrics like silks, denims even transparent pink PVC - going more for the fetish market."
