Today I’m focusing on the inside back, focusing on the first layers of the upholstery build up: webbings and springs. Springs are not my favourite part of the upholstery process but actually after filming this they are not so bad if you break down the steps into sizeable pieces! Springs need a LOT of stitching, first they need to be stitched in place to the webbings and then they need to be “lashed down to the frame” to create one uniformed spring unit.
I couldn’t fit all the spring work into one clip so watch out for Part 2 of the inside back, where I complete the spring unit and work my up to applying the fabric.
