Lautan purba bukanlah tempat yang bersahabat. Dari Zaman Permian hingga Mesozoikum, lautan dipenuhi makhluk-makhluk mengerikan yang lebih mirip monster, serta arus laut yang kekurangan oksigen membuat banyak wilayah menjadi “zona kematian”.
Memasuki era Mesozoikum, laut menjadi medan pertempuran para raksasa. Ada Pliosaurus pemangsa super dengan rahang sekuat T-Rex, Mosasaurus yang bisa memangsa apa pun yang bergerak,  dan cumi-cumi raksasa. Belum lagi ancaman dari dasar laut seperti letusan gunung api bawah laut dan senyawa beracun dari ganggang purba.
Laut purba adalah dunia yang asing dan sangat mematikan. Bukan sekadar air asin—ini adalah neraka biru tempat hukum alam berjalan brutal.
