Failsafe on MultiWii 2.3 drives me crazy

So after suffering a flyaway a week ago when I thought I had failsafe enabled on my quad I've decided to make absolutely sure it's working before trying to fly again. Unfortunately I've had nothing but headaches from trying to actually enable failsafe.
The default failsafe threshold in MW2.3 is 985 and my TX endpoints are set to 1000. As you can see in the video I never get any RC signals below 1000 - yet for some reason MW 2.3 keeps triggering.
I finally was able to get failsafe working by dropping the threshold to 900 even though my signals never go below 1000. I'm not sure why yet but I assume there must be something causing some kind of rounding in the comparison causing the issue.
