JeM posters in Srinagar, several white-collar arrests, terror modules busted across different states of India. The cat & mouse game b/w the terrorists & police ‘culminated’ in the deadly blast that shook the National Capital. Two days later, let us have a close look at the series of events preceding & succeeding the car blast near Red Fort. It all started in J&K, where objectionable posters of Pakistan affiliated terror group JeM on Srinagar’s street caught J&K Police’s attention. FIR lodged over the Jaish-e-Mohammed’s posters, on 19 Oct, led the police to arrest of Dr Adeel from Saharanpur on Nov 05. However, several other arrests preceded Dr Adeel’s arrest from Saharanpur, across J&K, Haryana & UP. Arrest of Arif Nisar, Yasir-ul-Ashraf, and Maqsood by Nowgam Police Station in Srinagar kick started the investigation on Oct 20. On Oct 27, a pistol & ammunition recovered from Shopian’s Maulvi Irfan Ahmed Wage, and Ganderbal’s Zameer Ahmed. Finally, police reached the Al-Falah Medical College in Faridabad, on Oct 30, to arrest Dr Muzamil & Dr Umar Un Nabi. Dr Umar Un Nabi, however, managed to escape, who finally carried out the car blast near Red Fort on Nov 10. Delhi Police confirmed his identity by DNA test, which matched to his mother’s; his leg was said to be struck b/w steering wheel & accelerator. After Dr Adeel’s arrest from Saharanpur on Nov 05, AK-56 rifle & ammunition seized from Anantnag Hospital on Nov 07, where he worked as senior resident. Just a day later, more rifles, pistols, and gunpowder recovered from Faridabad’s Al-Falah Medical College on Nov 08. Further investigation led to the arrest of a person named Madarsi from his house in Dhauj, Faridabad on Nov 09-10. Search ops led to massive recovery of 2,563 kg of explosion material at Al-Falah Mosque’s Imam, Hafeez Md Ishtiaq’s house in Mewat. After Hyundai i20 blasted, Delhi Police identified & recovered another red-coloured SUV on Nov 12, feared to carry more explosives. The suspected vehicle is registered in the name of Dr Umar Un Nabi, prime suspect in Delhi blast case, Sources told ANI. The inter-state operation was conducted by a joint team of the Jammu & Kashmir and Haryana Police. Investigation revealed blast’s links to white-collar terrorist network associated with JeM & Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind (AGH). Several suspects, including some doctors, were arrested, and the case is now with the national security agencies. Union Cabinet meeting chaired by PM Modi, finally classified this accident as an act of terror perpetrated by ‘anti-national forces’.
