A little bit of Barking history. Filmed throughout December 2023 & only just edited together.
We start off back in the past = At Barking Quayside! & discuss a little of its history "especially its once vast & renowned fishing industry." This also takes in, the Hewett family & their role in The Short Blue Fleet + we get to seem portraits of them & visit their last resting place.
After our historical intro = we jump back into the present, & have a wander along the modern day Barking Quayside "a very different world, to the past." Taking in some more history + current day things. Then we leave the Quayside, & head over to Barking St Margaret's, to pay our respects to The Hewett's of The Short Blue Fleet.
Then from there, you'll rejoin me "on an evening wander" through where Barking market is, & to a little nod to the past (created in our own era) using old & reclaimed materials. known as Barking Town Folly.
