In one of the largest anti-government protests in Serbia in over a decade tens of thousands of people—led by student groups and civil society activists—gathered in the capital Belgrade demanding snap elections and an end to what they call rising authoritarianism.
The protest movement was sparked last year after a deadly train station collapse in Novi Sad. Since then, anger’s been building—especially among the young.
