The four-wheel drive Merc can manage 0-60mph in less than four seconds - but it does weigh about two tonnes.

The tiny MK sportscar weighs about a quarter of that, and has two - yes, two - Kawasaki motorbike engines on its side. With a power to weight ratio of more than 670bhp per tonne, this is one race that could go either way.
