The Aran Islands are one of the most interesting places in all of Ireland. A place where locals speak Irish (Gaelic) to each other. (Аранські острови — одне з найцікавіших місць у всій Ірландії. Місце, де місцеві мешканці говорять ірландською (гельською) мовою між собою)

Aran sweaters.
Local woolen sweaters are considered one of the main elements of cultural heritage. At first, women knitted sweaters for their sailor husbands. Each family had its own patterns for decorating products. There is an opinion that the features of the decor helped in the identification of drowned fishermen.

Аранські светри. Місцеві вовняні светри вважаються одним із головних елементів культурного надбання. Спочатку жінки в'язали светри для своїх чоловіків-моряків.
Кожна сім'я мала свої візерунки. Існує думка, що особливості візерунків допомагали при впізнанні рибалок, що потонули.

Sometimes you can see a currach on the islands, a low boat with oars that has been a means of transport for the local people for centuries. A currach is a traditional boat with a wooden frame covered with animal skin. (Іноді на островах можна побачити куррах — низький човен із веслами, який століттями був транспортним засобом для місцевих жителів. Куррах – традиційний веселий човен, дерев'яний каркас який обтягнутий шкірою тварини).
