Описание: Unfortunately, this is the only music that Schubert wrote for the organ, and he wrote it in the last year of his life. He and Franz Lachner were on an excursion to Baden to see the organ at the Heiligenkreuz monastery (the main building is pictured in the video), and the day before Lachner suggested that they both write something to play on it. According to Lachner, Schubert finished this around midnight on the third of July, 1828 and the two of them played it the next morning on the church's organ. It is also played on piano, but usually taken faster as the piano does not sustain continuously like the organ does. A piece like this just makes one wish that Schubert had written more for the organ!
