One of many videos showing the beauty of the local vicinity to our VistadePenemacor.com retreat, in central Portugal. 15kms from the Spanish border.
Meimoa features an amazing wild swimming experiance, with many hidden beaches. It also has a sectioned safe area for children and none swimmers. Hiking, boating, 4x4 routes and off road motorcycles can be in their element here with around 18 to 25kms of surrounding (looped) tracks. The bar, bbq areas and toilet facilities are second to none. Some facilities are seasonal only, but swimming, fishing, trails, beaches etc are all year round.
Sabugal is a beautiful Castle town, near Penamacor. River beach, swimming, boating, cafes and the amazing castle itself can be found here. Several excellent resturants and the best Pizza for miles can be found here, and a town museum with much information about local walks, shopping and much more.
