Two minors were arrested and charged after allegedly stealing a vehicle and leading police on a chase that ended in a three-car crash Friday night in Ewing Township, New Jersey.
According to authorities, the stolen vehicle fled from police at a high rate of speed before running a red light at Prospect Street and Parkway Avenue. The vehicle struck another car and a traffic light pole before being hit by a responding police patrol vehicle.
Four people inside the struck vehicle — two adults and two juveniles — were transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center. One of the juveniles was listed in critical condition as of Saturday. The police officer involved was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The two juveniles inside the stolen vehicle were arrested and face multiple charges, including aggravated assault, assault by auto, theft of a motor vehicle, and eluding.
The incident remains under investigation.
