Good news for retirees: Social Security checks are getting bigger

Описание: Millions of Americans receiving Social Security will see bigger benefit checks in 2027 thanks to a new 3.6% cost-of-living adjustment, or COLA. The increase comes as inflation continues to impact household budgets, with prices rising 3.7% compared to a year ago.

According to Clark Howard, the increase is designed to help retirees and other Social Security recipients keep pace with rising costs. The average recipient could see about $75 more per month in benefits next year.

While Social Security recipients are getting some relief, many American workers face a different reality. New data indicates wages are not keeping pace with inflation, leaving some families struggling to keep up with everyday expenses, retirement savings and long-term financial goals.

A recent survey also found fewer Americans feel they are on track for retirement, while fewer workers report increasing their savings over the past year.
