Описание: Welcome, today is 10th March 2023, 7.00 am morning I am on the way to Mahabaleshwar from Pune.
The roads from Pune to Mahabaleshwar via NH 48 are both smooth and scenic.
It is the most recommended route by live maps and used by regular travelers.
On the way, there are several hotels and eateries for refreshments.
On this route Pune to Mahabaleshwar, distance is 120 KM and will take about three hours to travel.
Out of 120 km, First 80 km is on NH including the ghat section. Rest is through the normal double lane road.

This is the New Katraj Tunnel a highway tunnel on the NH 48 although it was formerly known as NH 4. It is a three -laned tunnel which stretches up to 1,223 metres on Katraj Ghat. The Tunnel was constructed using New Austrian Tunnelling Method.
It was opened on 15 December 2006 by Chief Minister Mr. Vilasrao Deshmukh.
The tunnel is part of the Golden Quadrilateral Project.
