In a major relief for NEET PG 2025 aspirants amid over 18,000 vacant postgraduate medical seats nationwide, the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has slashed the qualifying percentiles for Round 3 counselling. The revised cut-offs, announced in a notice dated January 13, 2026, drop to the 7th percentile for General/EWS (score: 103), 5th for General-PwBD (90), and 0th for SC/ST/OBC categories including PwBD (-40), following directives from the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. This move, triggered after Round 2 counselling, aims to maximize seat utilization and bolster India's specialist doctor pool, averting wastage of critical resources amid healthcare demands.
