Welcome to the enchanting riverside town of Pont-Aven, located in the heart of Brittany, France.
Known as the "City of Painters," this picturesque village became the center of a radical art movement in the late 19th century. In 1886, Paul Gauguin escaped the constraints of Paris to seek a more "primitive" and authentic soul here. Alongside other visionary artists, he founded the School of Pont-Aven, breaking away from traditional Impressionism to embrace bold colors and symbolic forms.

Pont-Aven (French pronunciation: [pɔ̃t‿avɛn]; lit. 'River Bridge' in Breton) is a commune in the Finistère department in the Brittany region in Northwestern France.

Pont-Aven is mainly known because of the group of artists who flocked round Émile Bernard and Paul Gauguin, and who were joined in 1888 by Paul Sérusier. They were collectively known as "Pont-Aven School" (French: École de Pont-Aven, Breton: Skol Pont-Aven).
Pont Aven still attracts artists and art lovers with many commercial galleries in addition to the town's public gallery.
