after learning april (meagan good) is a student history tutor, dj (columbus short) signs himself up for tutoring to spend time with her and the two slowly begin a friendship, and through april dj learns about the significant number of african-american historical figures and celebrities who were members of various greek-letter organizations, leading him to decide to pledge for the theta chapter along with rich (ne-yo) and their friend noel (jermaine williams).
