@GoaRepublicNews 🔴 Daily wage garbage workers of the Margao Municipal Council (MMC) have refused to resume duties without valid work orders. Attempts by the MMC Chairperson to pressure workers into joining duty without official orders failed.
Workers questioned the Chairperson, asking:
“If work orders were ready, why were the daily wage road workers given an off today?”
Mr. Savio Coutinho and his team extended full support to the workers through the Bhimshakti Sangatan, of which Mr. Coutinho is the South Goa President.
Workers have also raised concerns over the October wage calculation, questioning why they were paid for 26 days when they actually worked 31 days + 3 public holidays.
