Description
This panel discussion will focus on key environmental impacts generated by the space sector and how these can be reduced in a scientific and standardized manner using life cycle assessment (LCA). Panelists include Dr. Andrew Ross Wilson, Dr. Shelia Scott Neumann.
Each panelist will provide a short presentation on LCA and space relevant issues based on previous doctoral work and other experience. They will discuss major environmental hotspots of a typical space mission, how LCA can be used to address these, and what the future holds for space sustainability.
