Assistant Director arrested on charges of domestic violence
According to reports, the Versova police have arrested an assistant film director after his wife alleged that he had forced her to have unnatural sex with him in the past and was harassing her for money. The wife is a fashion designer and a former Miss India finalist. The accused has been booked for dowry harassment and forcible unnatural sex offences. He has been remanded in police custody for three days. The couple had a love marriage in 2007 and the victim claims to have been abused since then. They had a daughter in 2008. The woman has been quoted in the report as saying that she had visited the police station about 5 times in the last one year, but the authorities refused to take down her complaint after which she approached police commissioner, Rakesh Maria. This was when her case was finally registered.
