Repair and explanation of the internals of a 12v motor (red type 1, 40 0). It had a stripped axle but other than that was functionally solid, so I replaced the axle. I hope you find this video useful! This video is the first of its kind on YT. I explain how to open the motor, how I cleaned all the parts, the function of each internal component, troubleshooting and testing, and finally reassembly, lubrication, and gluing. After all was said and done, this rare red motor is functioning nicely!
If you have any questions, please let me know in the comments and I will do my best to answer them. I've taken pictures along the way and will find a method to share them if needed. Also, if you've found a replacement DC motor that works in the same way as these ones do, I would appreciate it if you tell me the details as I am looking for those.
