The Cable Stitch Border is a great finishing touch to any blanket that needs an accent feature. It is very pronounced and full of detail. This is more of an intermediate crocheter stitch providing a little more of a challenge. I try to be descriptive and provide as much explanation as I can in this tutorial to walk you through every step so that you can be well on your way to making a stunning border.

[Multiple of 3 + 2 chains]
Row 1: Single crochet in each stitch around blanket. 3 sc in every corner space. Slip Stitch into the first sc to close row 1.
*** If your blanket does not meet the stitch count requirement of multiple of 3 + 2 you will want to figure out how many additional stitches you will need to add into the row. Refer to video for more explanation or contact me for help. ***
Row 2: Chain 1, sc in the first space that you slip stitched into. Chain 3. Skip 2 spaces. Sc in the 3rd space. Turn your work so you are now facing the back of the work. Put 1 sc in each of the 3 chains. Turn work back so you are facing the front of the work. Move crochet hook behind the arch and under the arch so that your hook is now in front of the first skipped space. Sc in the first skipped space. Sc in the second skipped space. Repeat ** to the last stitch.
For the very last cable stitch you will chain 3. Sc into the very first skipped space of the very first cable stitch. Move the first cable stitch up and back so that it is out of the way and you are work in front of it. Turn your work so you are looking at the back. 1 sc in each of the 3 chains. Turn your work so you are looking at the front. Sc in the first skipped space. Find the very first sc that we started with in the very beginning of the border. Slip stitch in the top of that sc to close off the border.
Cut yarn. Yarn Over, Pull yarn throught loop. Weave in your ends.
