Park and Recreation Management students begin swift water rescue training in the controlled environment of the Butler YMCA. The students learned shallow water entry skills, how to don and secure a Type V Rescue PFD, tethered swimmer release tactics, direct contact rescues and strainer self-rescue.
Students will apply these skills during the next part of their training at McConnells Mill State Park.
