Making a delicious plum cake and homemade nectarine jam – simple, fresh, and perfect for any dessert lover.
Ingredients
• All-purpose flour: 500 g
• Warm milk: 250 ml
• Sugar: 80 g
• Butter (melted or softened): 80 g
• Eggs: 2
• Instant dry yeast: 7 g (or 25 g fresh yeast)
• Salt: 1/2 tsp
• Vanilla extract: 1 tsp
Optional (for streusel/crumb topping):
• Flour: 150 g
• Sugar: 100 g
• Cold butter: 100 g
• Cinnamon: a pinch
Mix flour, sugar, salt, yeast, eggs, milk, and butter in a mixer until smooth. Spread the dough in a dish, place halved dark red plums on top, sprinkle with crumb streusel, and bake until golden and soft.
Plum & Cinnamon Jam Squares (Homemade Marmalade Style)
For this recipe, I used about 12 medium red–black plums (around 500–600 g, pitted).
Here’s what you’ll need:
• 12 plums (red/black variety, pitted – about 500–600 g)
• 1 ¼ to 1 ½ cups sugar (250–300 g, adjust depending on sweetness of plums)
• ½ cup water (100 ml)
• ½ tsp ground cinnamon (or a small cinnamon stick, removed later)
• 1 tbsp lemon juice
Cut the plums and cook them with water until soft, then mash into a puree. Add sugar and cinnamon, let it simmer on medium heat, and stir until thick and glossy. Finally, stir in lemon juice, pour into a square dish, cool, and refrigerate until set – then slice into delicious plum & cinnamon marmalade squares.
