Richard Byewater water died of cancer in 2005. He was the manager of the Agricultural dealership Burgees Brackley depot in Nottinghamshire.
I met Richard when he was manager at the Brackley depot of Burgess in 1998. I only knew him for a week but he is someone who will stick in my mind as a good man for this rest of my life.
I did my week work experience from school at Burgess. Richard Byewater gave me a brilliant report which earned me the award for work experience student of the year 1998. That was unusual for me to get a good report at school. Infact i only escaped being expelled by the skin of my teeth. Only due to the fact that all my outcast friends got expelled first.
Richard didn't really know me but he chose to look past my scruffy dread lock hippy appearance and said something good about me. Just a simple act of kindness that i will always remember.
