Fixing a Broken Stuffer Drive Arm | Massey Ferguson Baler Repair

Описание: In this video I repair a Massey Ferguson baler stuffer drive arm that had previously broken and been poorly repaired.

The end of the drive arm, where the stud shaft is welded in, had failed again. After cutting the old shaft out with the grinder, it was clear the previous repair hadn’t been welded properly and wasn’t strong enough.

Rather than patching it up again, I decided to replace the entire end. I CNC plasma cut a new end and removed the old damaged section completely. To make sure the timing was correct, I machined a hub in the lathe to bolt to the mill bed and mount the arm so I could accurately position and drill the new hole — this is critical for the baler to run properly.

Once the new end was positioned, I used it to mark where the old end needed to be cut off. I then ground a 35-degree weld prep on all mating edges to form a proper weld vee before welding the new end on.

After welding, the arm was mounted back in the mill so the new hole could be drilled and reamed accurately. The final job was welding in the new stub shaft, completing the repair.

A proper fix to get the baler back working as it should.
