My longest trip so far.
I was planning to go on a trip where I would travel trough multiple countries for a while, but something always occured and I just couldn't go. Well this year things were different.
I started planning my trip somewhere around may, 8 days and 6 countries. The most interesting one for me was Montenegro, always wanted to check it's gorgeous landscape.
About the bike, well it is a BMW RNineT year 2016, not really a touring bike, right? Well I heard that a lot, trust me, but still, I was determined to do the trip with it. In order to have enough room for luggage I equipped the bike with sidebags and a 60L drybag from @SW-MOTECH, I gotta say I was very very pleased with the way they held up. The GPS I use is the Zumo XT from @GarminUK wich in my opinion is the best money can buy right now.
Before starting the trip I took my bike for an oil and filter change to get it ready for the trip to @BMW XCARS Mureș and I was on my way.
So I started my journey on September 10th, weather was great, warm and sunny.
Day 1: from Roamina to Serbia, I made almost all of the journey on the motorway in order to cross the as soon as I can. Serbia was great, I stayed at the bank of the Danube river and enjoyed the scenery.
Day 2: the weather was still OK in the morning, but as soon as I started, after a couple of kilometers it went all bad, very bad. 400 km to ride in heavy rain....maan I did not like it but I had to get to Montenegro Durmitor National Park @durmitornationalpark8792, so yeah,I arrived, all wet. Did not like that day too much but the whiskey and beer that I drank were soo good, warming up my soul.
Day 3 & day 4: From Durmitor to Kotor; I can say that this was the best day of all eight. Clear sky, very good weather, it was like Heaven. I did ride some very beautiful mountain roads with amazing scenery, ariived at Kotor and enjoyed the beauty of the city and the bay. Day 4 was rest day and exploring day, explored the city and the old fortress up in the mountains. i will go back there, thats for sure.
Day 5: Montenegro to Bosnia, the weather was still on my side. Montenegro was very beautiful all the way on my journey, not the sam can be told about Bosnia, the southern part is very cold, like there are only rocky mountains, everything seems to be died, it is very dry and 'cold'. Visited the city of Mostar, the famous bridge there. City is very crowded but also beautfiul in the area of the old city. I finished the day arriving to Sarajevo, took a walk in the old town, visited a few landmarks and closed the
Day 6: I explored the northern part of Bosnia, now that seemed like a different country, beautiful mountains, everything green and alive, good roads, it was just awesome.... at least until it started raining, again, heavy. I crossed the bprder to Croatia but couldn't enjoy it because I was just running from the rain trying to get as fast as I can to the Hotel.
Day 7 & 8: the waether was continuosly bad, raining, windy, not what one would call ideal conditions for riding. Went trough Croatia, entered Hungary and arrived in the city of Szeged. There I had a little bit of luck, cause the rain stopped and I was able to explore the city, and boy it was worth it, beautiful old buildings that were back in it's glory shape, nice parks all around the city and the bank of the Danube river, just beautiful. Last day was nothing special tho, weather shitty again, crossed the border and rode back home, on motorways in Romania.
Even though the last few days weather was kind of bad, i still enjoyed my trip, it was a great experience, one that I will experience many many times more in the future.
