There was a religious festival happening over the next couple of days in the village of Goudaguda in the Odisha region of India. There were hundreds of people sitting or standing around the area, waiting in anticipation. I noticed that all the women were sitting on the ground around the stage and the men were standing around the periphery. In the centre was this makeshift stage, more like a boxing ring and on it they had dancers and actors playing for the assembled crowd.
