That was her love for Lord Rama.Lord Rama with the help of monkeys waged a war on Lanka and slayed Ravana to rescue his wife Sita who was Sri herself. Therefore Lord Vishnu will resist all enemies who will come between him and his wifeLord Krishna used to play pranks on the milkmaids of Vrindavana. He used to enjoy their company. Radharani was his beloved. Before he went to Mathura he didn't leave Radharani with Rayana. Instead he secretly married her (as Sri marries Narayana and no other person) within Bhandirvan and her soul remained with him. But to fulfill Sudama’s curse Radharani's shadow married Rayana who was the partial incarnation of Lord Krishna.Lord Krishna was sleepless because he wanted to marry Rukmini. He wanted to make her his wife. He knew that she was Mahalakshmi and wanted to marry her within the Dwapara.

The Supreme Lord said- “Just as Rukmiṇī's mind is fixed on Me, My mind is fixed on her. I can't even sleep at night. I know that Rukmī, out of envy, has forbidden our marriage.”

He loves her that's why he was sleepless without her . He himself went to rescue her from Shishupala. He married her within Dwarka.Lord Krishna fulfilled all the wishes of Rukmini. The Tulabharam tale demonstrates how Rukmini is equally devoted to Lord Krishna. Lord Krishna trusts his wife Rukmini and their love is selfless. She was the chief queen of Dwarka. When Lord Krishna leaves the land of mortals and proceeds towards Vaikuntha his Rukmini also wants to leave with him. Without him she doesn't want to live. That's why she immolates herself later. Such is the love of Narayana and Sri.Lord Krishna even resists Lord Indra to fulfill the wish of Parijata tree to please his wife Satyabhama. The Parijata tree comes from heaven to Dwarka just because Satyabhama asked for it. Lord Krishna does penance for a son because it is Jambavati's wish. Thus Lord Krishna loves all his wives who are the Ashta Lakshmi the 8 manifestations of Sri.

Whenever Lord Vishnu incarnated his wife Mahalakshmi also incarnates with him. She is important to Lord Vishnu. She is his beloved (Vishnu Priya). Narayana even incarnated as Venkateshwara to please Sri who was wrathful on him. He married Sri who had incarnated as Padmavati.
