Lists are awesome! They generate discussion and debate, as well as give you some insight. Comic Book Resources (link below) does special surveys every once in a while to ask their audience about various 'top' comic books. From those surveys, they generate different 'top lists' and in 2018 they did one on the top 50 greatest single issue or one-shot comic books of all time. Let's take a look at this list and see what we can learn about which single issue comic books stories have been important for comic book fans. I've also added a few of my own choices that did not make this list.
