Left over Christmas Recipes!
Use up that Roast turkey in this delicious Butter Turkey Recipe. Just like butter chicken, but with a little twist.
SAVE THIS RECIPE NOW.
There's only so many sandwiches one can eat and if you're craving a bit of spice, then this recipe is the way to go.
Ingredients:
Turkey marinade
Roast turkey - cut into bite size pieces
4 tbsp yoghurt
1 tbsp garlic paste
1/2 tbsp ginger paste
1 tsp salt
1 tsp chilli powder (or paprika or a combination of both)
Juice of half a lemon
For the sauce:
2 onions roughly chopped
3 cloves of garlic
2 tbsp of ghee
1 large tomato
1 cup of Passata
Handful of cashew nuts
1/4 tsp liquid smoke
1/2 cup of cream
1/2 cup water
Powdered spices:
1/2 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp cumin powder
1 tsp Chili powder
1 tsp smoked paprika
1/2 tsp garam masala
1 tsp turmeric
2 tsp of kasoori methi
Whole spices:
1 tsp of cumin seeds
1 bay leaf
2 cloves
1 cardamom pod
2 cm cinnamon stick
1-2 dried chillies (remove the seeds to reduce the heat)
Garnish:
Mint
Coriander
Cream
Kasoori methi
First you want to marinate the turkey using all the ingredients under turkey marinade. Pop it in the fridge and start to prepare your sauce.
1. Melt the ghee in a pan and add in the whole spices.
2. Once you hear them sizzle add in the onions & garlic and brown.
3. Once golden chuck in the tomato and let it soften before adding the pasatta and let it simmer then reduce.
4. Add in the powdered spices, the cashews, kasoori methi and liquid smoke.
5. Pop the mixture into a blender with the cream and water and blitz until smooth.
6. Fry the turkey in some ghee until it is slightly charred and heated through.
7. Pour over the sauce and simmer until it is piping [hot].
8. Garnish with kasoori methi, cream and corianderand mint.
9. Serve with roti, cauliflower rice and salad.
