In this candid and wide-ranging conversation before their concert that night, The Doors discuss their recent tours, recording sessions, trouble with the police and concert hall managers, the infamous Singer Bowl riot, their approach to songwriting, favorite musicians, and a host of other rarely-discussed topics including their unreleased promotional film for "Not To Touch The Earth" directed by Bob Neuwirth (watch it here:    • The Doors - "Not To Touch The Earth" (1968...  ) and their legendary jam with Van Morrison & Them at the Whisky a Go Go in 1966.

Tony "Little Sun" Glover was a member of the Minneapolis folk group Koerner, Ray & Glover and a fellow Elektra Records recording artist. Following their interview, Glover is invited to join The Doors on stage and plays harmonica on several songs.

Portions of this interview were later published across multiple issues of Circus Magazine in 1969, but this original recording has remained unheard until now. It is a remarkable, hour-long discussion with Jim Morrison, Ray Manzarek, Robby Krieger, John Densmore, and their manager Bill Siddons that offers a unique and unfettered glimpse into the inner workings of The Doors at the height of their success and notoriety. A special thanks to the fan who recently unearthed this tape and asked to share it here for the first time anywhere.

Technical Note: According to Glover, he turned his tape recorder on in the middle of his interview, so the recording picks up mid-conversation and continues until the tape runs out.
