Union Pacific Big Boy 4014 in Cheyenne, WY 2025

Описание: Upon delivering several high-ranking Union Pacific officials to the majestic depot in Cheyenne, Wyoming, the UP Steam crew had some work to do. Before the massive Big Boy No. 4014 could be put away in the Steam Shop, the passenger train it was carrying needed to be turned around. The Union Pacific "Abraham Lincoln" Heritage Unit No. 1616-along with UP SD70M No. 4044-was slated to take the passenger train back South to Denver later that evening. Plans called for a Cheyenne-based local crew to tie diesel locomotives onto the back of the train and tow it to Speer for turning, but a miscommunication occurred and a crew wasn't called. As a result, the massive Big Boy needed to get the job on it's own!
Watch here as the steam locomotive is backed up to the Cheyenne Depot platform for an impromptu public viewing. Once everyone was ready, the train is shoved westward towards the junction at Speer. Who needs a diesel when you have thousands of superheated horsepower at your disposal?! The locomotive puts on a great show as it heaves the passenger train back towards Speer. After the turn is complete, we follow the train back down to Cheyenne where it is tied down at the depot. From there, the steam locomotive and crew would depart for the scene, allowing for Union Pacific road crews to prepare the diesels to lug the train back to Denver.
