They are demolishing a railway bridge in Leeuwarden. Behind the wall are sheet piles and part of the sheet piles have to stay and don't have to be damaged. So working with shear is not possible. On both sides where the excavators are standing are laying cables for the electricity and also don't have to be damaged and it was not possible to remove them. So it was very difficult to use hydraulic hammers because the excavators are not standing in the right position and hammers couldn't be used on the right way and cause lot of wear. And it takes lot of more time. That is why the wrecking ball is choosen and the most efficient en safe demolition method.
