Flood Watch Issued for Oahu, Kauai Due to Thunderstorm and Heavy Rain Chance | Hawaii Weather Update

Описание: Hawaii Weather - A Flood Watch has been issued for the islands of Kauai, Oahu, and Niihau. Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.

The Flood Watch will last through late tonight.

A disturbance will approach the islands from the west late tonight, increasing the chance for heavy rainfall and thunderstorms. The risk of flooding will be relatively scattered, but will remain present through Saturday evening.

Conditions will improve slightly through Sunday as the moisture shifts further northward. A few scattered showers are possible on Sunday. Winds will weaken significantly this weekend, becoming light and variable by Sunday. A few pop-up sea breeze showers are possible on Sunday afternoon.

The moisture that lifts to the north on Sunday could return on Tuesday and Wednesday of next week, but will be in the form of showers. Instability will have decreased by the beginning of next week.

A High Surf Advisory remains in effect for all east-facing shores through Saturday at 6 AM. Another advisory level north-northeast swell will arrive late Monday night.

Gotta be honest, this is just a mess of several disturbances hanging out around us this weekend. It is not a textbook example, and thus, VERY difficult to create a forecast around.

Expect scattered rainfall this weekend.
