Civil society groups back IEBC decision to reject party lists

Описание: Civil society groups have welcomed the decision by the independent electoral and boundaries commission, IEBC to reject lists of nominees by political parties. The groups called on political parties to adhere to the constitution and stop using nomination to reward their political cronies. IEBC has rejected and returned the nomination lists to political parties. IEBC in its rejection said parties did not meet the threshold which requires that they appoint marginalised groups, women and youth and people living with disabilities to the slots.
