The Federal Court of Australia has released the detailed reasons behind Novak Djokovic’s deportation from Australia.
Chief Justice James Allsop released the key findings, which in effect backed up Immigration Minister Alex Hawke.
The court believed Mr Djokovic would inflame anti-vaccine sentiment if he were allowed to play in the tournament.
“Even if Mr Djokovic did not win the Australian Open, the capacity of his presence in Australia playing tennis playing tennis to encourage those who would emulate or wish to be like him is a rational foundation for the view that he might foster anti-vaccination sentiment."
