New Jersey Motorsports Park - Thunderbolt - Session 1 [2012 370z]

I have started to upload all of my track day sessions to have a centralized location to review notes, instructor comments, etc.

This was my fifth HPDE event. The track setup was New Jersey Motorsport Park - Thunderbolt. This was a NASA NE event (HPDE 1). The car I am driving in this video is a 2012 Nissan 370z.

Modifications that I have done to the car at this point are:
1. Motul 5.1 brake fluid.
2. Stainless steel braided brake lines.
3. Carbotech Pads.
4. Hans device.
5. 5 Point Harness.
6. Harness Bar.
7. Racing Seats.
8. Splitter (attempting to force air into the engine bay for cooling, not for downforce)

Tires: BFG Sport Comp 2

Some notes from this track day:

A lot of my notes for this track day are very track specific and are on my track map.

Other notes:
steering car with acceleration on turn 7 rather than steering input, meaning: keep one steering input and increase the acceleration to turn less, or decrease acceleration to turn more. This kept the car closer to the limit. Thought process at this turn is to go flat-out to force the car to track out, then to initiate the turn in, release the acceleration as needed to turn toward the grandstand.

Turning traction control off helped make the driving much smoother.

Started to practice off line driving for intro to wheel to wheel racing.

Cleared again for HPDE 2

Need to hit all curbs.

Take advantage of every single straight, no matter how short it is.

Starting Tire Pressure: 32 PSI
Needed to reduce 2 PSI tire pressure throughout the day. 1 psi at final session.
