Here's one of the very earliest recordings from Tamworth, Australia's "Country Music Capital".
In fact...according to the cover notes, it was the very FIRST record to be fully produced in Tamworth.
It was recorded in the 2TM studios, and featured musicians included Tamworth all-rounder Bob Clark, Helen King on organ, and 'Mr. Hoedown', John Minson on harmonica.
By the time this E.P. was recorded, John had been a fixture on the Tamworth country music scene for many years.
This was his second E.P. for CM Records, titled "Country Hits With John Riley".
It was released in mid 1970...cat. # CMEP-502.
The label was based in Dubbo, and was the 'baby' of local car salesman Ken Cameron.
Ken's 'day job' involved running Macquarie Valley Car Sales", but, his passion was country music.
He also had a weekly night time country music show on radio 2DU.
On this track, John turns in a good performance on the classic track, written by Freddie Hart, and a # 1 hit in 1955 for Carl Smith.
This upload is from the original E.P., which is now quite hard to find.
I have uploaded all four tracks from the E.P. to YouTube.
