Patron of the Nettle
Created in 2025 by Johanna Bianca Rehn
Light panel 120 x 60 cm, watercolor paper, watercolor painting, and real nettles in front of an LED screen that can be dimmed and shift through all the colors of the rainbow.
In the mountains, there is a living primal force that pulsates with the rhythm of the earth. Her presence permeates every rock formation, every mineral vein, every underground stream. On my travels in Brazil, Peru, Norway, and Sweden, I have felt the mountain's spiritual presence, a vibration, an ancient wisdom.
The mountain's primordial mother is the earth's protector, our protector. This painting also symbolizes healing, and above all, the gift that the nettle gives us. A plant that has traditionally been used for purification, as a diuretic, anti-inflammatory, anti-rheumatic, it increases blood circulation and is nourishing and rich in iron. What a fantastic plant to rely on.
